On December 13th, the last Polynesian Resort torch light ceremony was performed. Kaleo, a guitar player from the Tambu lounge and host of the torch light ceremony was part of the latest round of budget cuts. He was an 18 year employee of the Polynesian Resort.

Oh man!

This was something that I wanted to do on our next trip because we had never seen it. What a shame that we are losing so many of the little things that make Disney different from other vacation destinations.

Geez, and you would think they'd hold off until the new years after peak season to start with the cuts, and not right in the middle. There goes yet another pygmy pyromaniac fired from the mouse house

You'd think, right? Sheesh.

We were going to catch it on the last trip and decided to hold off due to the weather being kinda bad. Now, I wish we would've caught it.

A shame. Disney will be getting rid of all the things people go to Disney time after time. It the small stuff that draws people back.

I hope these are temporary cuts while the economy is bad... I hope these little treats are brought back when things improve. Otherwise, there is not much that sets Disney apart from other theme parks.
