Space Mountain refurb...and proof that I'm a Disney geek
OK...I admit it. I'm a complete Disney geek. When I'm at WDW, I'm as likely to get excited about construction walls and scrims as the normal person gets about meeting Mickey Mouse.
My geek-dom was confirmed when I was on the path from Tomorrowland to Toontown Fair late in our recent trip. I just HAD to stop and get some pictures of Space Mountain (which is, as you may know, very near that walking path) during its refurbishment. How cool I would be if I could catch some newsworthy action to bring back to my WDB friends! So here's what I saw when I got home and looked at the pictures:
Do you see it? (If you want, click on the picture to blow it up a little.) The construction crew that I was trying so hard to capture (using every bit of zoom that I had) was smiling, waving...and probably mocking me for being such a geek that I would take pictures of them working on a theme park ride.
So there it is...proof that I'm a Disney geek. And I'm proud of that!

Re: Space Mountain refurb...and proof that I'm a Disney geek
It took me a minute to realize they were waving, Tim. But I actually got a giggle out of it when it dawned on me. Don't feel so geeky, anyone here (including me) would have snapped the same shots

I love shots like this. And yes you are a Geek as are we all... Long live the Geekness of Disney.
Although I would think in our fast passed acronym filled world that the natural combination of disney and geek has never happened. Although being know as a Deek, might not be that much better.

Love the pics. I am leaving for the world this week I am going to miss riding Space Mountain and the TTA. These are classics to me too. By the way you are a big Disney GEEK! But we all are in that club too. You are not alone. LOL

Gosh Darnit!! I was planning on going to Disney World probably in December, but I don't know when Space Mountain will re-open so I don't know if I can ride it by that time!!!
Re: Space Mountain refurb...and proof that I'm a Disney geek
It is scheduled to open in November and I know this because we are going for Christmas and New Years this year and we checked to see if it would be done.
