Walt Disney World Resort testing out Premium Parking
(6/20/08) Walt Disney World is now experimenting with the concept of “Premium Parking” now by setting aside the best parking spots at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex and charging $5 for them. Keep in mind that parking is currently FREE at the Sports Complex, and according to Disney, it will remain free. They are just experimenting with the concept and taking guest feedback. Of course following the same line of thought, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Premium Parking show up at the theme parks in time for the busy winter holiday season… which is unfortunate since I think Disney may have been one of the last big park chains to not give in to the stupid concept of premium parking.

Re: Walt Disney World Resort testing out Premium Parking
Why is it Americans cannot remember how to walk?? I have never seen a lazy bunch than we are. Why charge for the spaces, why not just have valet parking? Would that not solve the problem???
Re: Walt Disney World Resort testing out Premium Parking
If they're going to have "premium parking," why not just go all out and do valet?
I've tried "premium parking" before at Universal and I didn't feel like I parked "closer." Ok, it may have saved me from going up or down a couple levels because they save the 3rd floor of the garage for this parking, and I'm guessing I wasn't the only one who wanted to try to park "closer" but I ended up being in the furthest parking section away from where we needed to go, but at least we didn't have to go up or down a level or two You're better off parking normally and sometimes you may be in the first section, just a level above or below the premium parking and a short distance to City Walk compared to the one time I tried premium where I was much further back.

Look, I think that you are all correct in saying make it valet instead of premium parking. I would have been ticked off had I paid for premium and then been in the last section.

Your right...when you look at it that way, you could be one row in front of me and I paid nothing...that would really be a bummer...
Re: Walt Disney World Resort testing out Premium Parking
Since I dont have to worry about parking (I use Disney Tran). It's no big deal for me. I'm also AP holder so parking is free anyway if I was going to use it. I think it's what like $11.00 to park anyway. That is cheap when I lived in Seattle Parking was like $15.00 to $20.00 a day. Want to park close to Quest Field for a Seahawk game anywhere from $25.00 to $50.00. If it later in the Day at the Park maybe the $5.00 extra buck is a good thing. IMHO
Re: Walt Disney World Resort testing out Premium Parking
They have raised the parking within the last 6 months, or I thought they had. I am glad I have an AP and we always stay on site so I dont have to worry about this. I hope they wont do this.
