Do you think Disney will include the new dining package in when free dining is available??? I want to plan another quick trip next year during free dining and I just want some opinions as to what you all think.
Being the cheapest of the dining plans, I am sure the new quick service plan will be the one that is offered free, with the others offered as an upgrade.
This should alleviate some of the ADR crunch during free dining, and make some money for the company on those who choose to have table service meals added to their meal plan. There will also be those few who take the quick service plan, but still want to have one or two character meals, who will pay cash for those, thus added $ for the mouse.
I am quite sure that this will be the case. But you can pay the difference for the other dining plans if you so choose. So don't let the plan stop you.
As I've mentioned here before, you can sometimes get a sneak preview of what's to come for US visitors by watching what the UK visitors are offered earlier. This time, the preview is very interesting.
The free dining offer that is being presented to UK visitors creates tiers of free dining. It is only available to guests staying in a Moderate, Deluxe, or Deluxe Villa. And...get ready for this one...the resort you're staying in determines what free dining plan you get! The guests in Moderates will get the Quick Service Dining Plan for free, while the guests in Deluxe and Deluxe Villa will get the Basic Dining Plan.
No way to know for sure if this will be the same offer we'll get next year for US guests, remember. But it sure does make one think that this is where free dining is headed. If you want to see the offer for yourself, it is on the Disney International website: Walt Disney World - Stay at a Disney Resort and eat for FREE!

I will only stay in a moderate or better so I'm hoping for the best. Thanks!
Great info Tim, thanks! Do these offers pertain to an American that might go the Disneyland Paris? Or is it just for European's who come to WDW?
It's for visitors from there coming here. They get different package offerings and tickets based on their usual "holiday" patterns. For example, here we can only buy a 10-day ticket, but they get longer tickets such as another offer they have going right now--buy a 7-day ticket and get 7 days free.

Just as a note: I'm hearing that the free dining for 2009 is indeed being offered right now as a "bounceback" offer to those who are staying in Disney resorts during this year's free dining period. And, contrary to what we were thinking/discussing, it is being offered at Values, Moderates, and Deluxes--and the offer is for the Basic Dining Plan, not the Quick Service. Rates that are advertised on the flyer are reportedly based on a family of 4 in a room: Value--$58 per person/per day; Mod.--$74 pp/pd; Deluxe--$95 pp/pd. Dates are 8/23/09-10/1/09.
We shall see if this translates to a general public offer again this year. I'm going to be at WDW tonight, so I'll see if we get the offer in our room at check-in and I'll let you know!
