It sounds like WDW dining is going to experience a big change soon. Most ADRs (except Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Victoria and Albert's) will apparently be going back to 90 days in advance rather than the 180 days that has been the standard for the past 3-4 years. The question remains whether this is a temporary change or is intended to be a "permanent" change (or as permanent as anything is with Disney). TouringPlans.com suggests that the ADR window will begin to expand back to 180 days by fall 2009.
Here's what we're hearing--the magic date seems to be January 15th. ADRs for this date will be available 180 days ahead. For the next 90 days, you would only be able to reserve through Jan. 15th. The first date that you would be able to make ADRs for Jan. 16th would be October 17th.

Depends on which story you believe. The TouringPlans.com version suggests that this is due to a change in the computer reservations system and the 180 day ADRs will return when that transition is complete. Other people are viewing is as a turn away from the 180 day ADRs altogether.

I'm glad it's changing back to 90 days. I was under the impression that all 180 day restaurants were changing back to 90 days. Hmmmm. I hope they won't change it back to 180 days. I find it frustrating trying to book an ADR and not knowing what the park opening and closing times are.

For the most part, the calendars have been updated 6 months ahead. I think that the Nov. and Dec. calendars were really slow to be put up this time for some reason, but they've been pretty good about it. You're right--we always start from the park hours and EMHs when we start putting together an itinerary for ourselves or for our clients. It would be really tough to guess for MK especially. Party dates are another bugaboo when it comes to planning a shorter trip!

Yep, this year was terrible. Waiting on November hours was a horrible ordeal for me. Anyway, I hope that the issues they were having are all over with and the hours will always be out on time.
