Online dining reservations now available for travel agents
This is the little bit of good news we've been waiting for--the online dining reservation system is now up and running for travel agents. Since it is a new system, there are certain to be kinks to work out (as we have already seen this week). But the fact that we now have it available to us should signal that it would be available to the general public as soon as everything is stabilized and some adjustments are made.
From my personal experience using the system so far, it allows you to search for a restaurant and then select a time/date for the ADR (advance dining reservation). If that time is not available, the system searches within an hour either way for an available time. If there is still nothing available, it recommends a couple of other restaurants that are similar and have tables available at that time. You can search a date range of 5 days for a certain time of day.
If you are staying in a Disney resort, you can still book ADRs 10 days beyond your arrival date (which gives you a jump on people who aren't staying on property). The ADRs are associated with your resort reservation, just as they were with the old system. You are asked to enter your resort reservation number before booking any dining.
All ADRs you make are placed into a shopping cart and then you "check out" at the end. You can print the confirmations and have them emailed to you. Very handy!
When more information is available, I'll be sure to let you know.

Tim, thanks for the update! I am hoping that the ADR system will open to the general public soon, I would like to take a look and see it for myself. I might need to add something for my upcoming trip.

Not sure...I don't see anything on the Disney Travel Agent site that specifies geography for this. I don't know if the Canadian agents get a different site than we do or not. Do you have an agent you are working with there? If so, you should be able to ask him/her to check on it for you.

There is nothing listed as far as hours go. The big question that I still have is what time they will consider the 90 days before your travel date--still 7:00 a.m. when the res center opens? I hope so--I don't want to have to do all of the ADRs at midnight!

Tim you are awesome!! I am a travel agent and I have yet to get info from Disney on this service available to us! I am using the system now! :-)
Re: Online dining reservations now available for travel agents
I called Disney Travel Co to ask about the ADR's because I have clients going June 9 and the system is not available until June 20 for check-ins. I asked him if the service was available 24 hours a day and he said no, not sure if he knows or not. I will probably test the theory at some point in the near future.
What are the hours for Disney Travel ADR's by phone? Anyone know? I didn't think to ask the agent...:-)
