| I know that they do close the MK at 5 and 6 in September, I was there one year and hated it. I think that, and I hate to say this, but if they were to cut some cast members, they could probably save some money, but it would have to be in the right places, so that there would be no impact to the guests. I am thinking like cutting management jobs, that are higher paying and not always necessary.

| I am not into cutting the hours of the parks. One we pay too much only to have a few hours in the park. If anything get rid of extra early hours & late hours. Then close say at 9PM or even 8PM. I know I have been & some of the park closes early. I know they have to do something but no closing too early. Shows maybe. parades? Or cut them down to maybe two shows a day . Just hard to say when a person travels a distance to have the parks close early. As it is some of the counter services are closing early each day at the MK. MHO

| I went with "Other" and I'll try and explain why ![]() I think that it takes cuts in many areas to make an impact on the bottom line. With becoming more efficient, it really takes discipline and some good management to identify and properly recommend changes. So, I don't necessarily think that the management personnel should be cut right off of the bat without being evaluated and really seeing what they bring to the table. As far as eliminating cast members, as it's been stated, there can definitely be cuts in this area that affect the guest experience. So, you want to ensure that it will not affect the guest experience when doing these type of cuts. Hours of operation cuts are an interesting option. Although, I don't know that it's necessarily shutting the entire parks earlier or opening later. There could be many adjustments made here that could cause minimal impact to the guests. Things like opening a section of a particular park at a different timeframe (ie, Adventureland opening at 10am vs 9am for the rest of the park) or closing an area of the park earlier than others. Even though it's not the 'coolest' option, it does make the most sense without impacting the guests completely. The most dangerous and most sensitive of the cuts would be to shows and/or attractions. These directly impact the guests and cuts here would be my absolute last resort. You can't take entertainment options completely out. If you wanted to make them open at different hours or cutback the amount of shows, etc. I can understand that. But, don't give the paying guest less for the same money (or more money!) than they have been paying for in the past. All in all, there isn't one particular area....in my opinion...that should have cuts across the board. I feel that, as in any business, the cuts can make sense and affect the bottom line if they are well thought out and have everyone's interests (paying customer, employee, investors) in mind. ![]() You can become more efficient without causing a negative impact to lots of people. That's how I've always managed. ![]()

| I voted hours, but with a different thought in mind. How about during slower times of year rotating Animal Kingdom and Studios closures? Keep Magic Kingdom and Epcot open later, but only have 3 parks open each day during the week. I think that might be a good way to keep the same level of entertainment within each park, and they could just increase the attendance of the 3 open parks enough that it would warrant staying open late. Just a thought.

| I'm going with shows but just barely. This is a hard one. I enjoy some of the shows and parades. I wouldn't want to cut CM's, they really help make the experience. Hours??? Yeah we pay enough for tickets. Maybe they just need a few people running around turning off light switches in areas that don't need lights. In the book “NUTS” - the story of how Southwest Airline was started and run…a flight attendant suggested they eliminate using trash bags that were printed with the SWA logo — hundreds of thousands of dollars were saved by this little change.

| I went with other, but I like a multi step approach. First overall expenses- it is entirely too cold in ,ost restaurants, warm it up and save money there. Set all restaurant and lobby temps to 6 degrees cooler then outside temp. Preset all resort rooms at 74 summer and 70 winter. Switch to all flourescent lighting an din restaurants, only run every other row of lights, most big stores do that, WDWc ould as well. Guest rooms, most hotels do fresh towels every other day, not everyday. Switch to that and have a 30% decrease in laundry expense overall. Put clear plastic covers over the linen table clothes or go with bare tables, again, a net launfry expense savings. Tidy guest rooms everyday, but only "deep clean ever two days or three days, like a regular resort. Some only spot vaccuum and tidy the beds from check in until check out. Scale back gardening services. Wait 4 to six extra days betwen cuts, trims and other detail making services. It still looks great but allows a reduction in staff and expense of equipment. Lose a few items om most resort menus, this cuts overall food expense, and labor hours and cuts waste. Lots of things are not popular, so ditch them. Stop the rolling kiosk drink carts, there are too many and too close to fixed drink places, use the extra staff person (from the cart) to "float" between two or three busier areas. Narrow down the fireworks, a two minute trim in the production would not be noticeable by much and would provide a manpower and fireworks cost savings every day times 365. Stop the MNSSHP and the MVMCP, most folks have said it is a declining event, so ditch it while the memories of it are still good and save all of that money. Put all maintenance on a longer schedule, a couple or three extra weeks between lightbulb changes, not a big deal. An extra week on air filters would not be bad and none of these things are noticeable but add up to huge savings. I have more, but I will post them later. |
