Default What kind of camera do you use?

I use a Nikon D40. I have a couple of lenses like a 55-200mm and a 50mm f/1.4.

I was curious at what kind of camera you guys use and kind of results you get.

I have a Canon Rebel XT, it's a few years old, and really lacking on features and speed. I also have a 18-55mm, a 70-300mm, and a 28-135mm. I am about to get a 50mm 1.4, and I can't wait. I am also hoping by the end of the year to upgrade my body to Canon's 7D. After that I will be done for a bit. The only other thing that I will "need" to have will be the external flash.

As far as results are concerned, I am happy with what I am getting, but after attending Pixelmania! last year, and having a friend like Tim from The Magic in Pixels, I have reached the limits of my Rebel, and really need the 7D to take my hobby further.

your equipment is pretty decent already. i would love to have a 70-300mm. i'm sure that takes great shots and amazing sharpness.

yea I'm sure you will love the 50mm 1.4. especially when you get the 7D.

If you are looking at the 7D, you may want to explore the T2i Canon. It is essentially the same as the 7D with a couple of exceptions. The 7D will take the iso in to 12600 and the T2i will only go to 6400. The fps for the 7D is 6fps and the T2i is 3.9 fps. The price differential is significant. The 7D body is around $1350-1400. The T2i is going to come in between $650 and $750 depending on where you get it. If you need the extra iso and the faster fps the 7D is the one, but the new T2i is really priced to take that segment of the market. It is also a few ounces lighter, but uses the same processor internally as the 7D. Just thought I would share that. I just finished doing that research and will probably get one in the next couple of months.

I'd go for a full frame camera. haha. If i am willing to spend around 1400 then ill just save up some more and just go for a full frame camera.

I'm using the Canon Rebel XTi. Right now, I only have the stock lens (18-55mm) and battery grip. I'm a new Canon convert, so I'm starting over. Was hoping to have more gear before our trip, but that isn't going to happen unless the photo phairy visits my house in a few days.

I use Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W510 digital camera. According to other cameras it has light weight and more attractive features.

I’m using Nikon COOLPIX P500, it is an excellent camera. It has a 36x NIKKOR wide-angle optical zoom lens and 12 mega pixel.

I'm using a Fuji HS20 EXR, recently purchased a macro lens and a wide angle lens, happy with it.

I was using a Canon PowerShot A490 for past couple of years and presently upgraded to Canon PowerShot S90 just because to get some good quality images once I go to Disney Land.
