A new IMAX screen and two new eateries are slated to debut at Universal Orlando Resort beginning in December.
The Universal CityWalk movie theater, AMC Universal Cineplex 20, converted one of its existing screens to a special, larger IMAX screen positioned closer to the audience, said a news release. The new theater, scheduled to open Dec. 18 with the movie “Avatar,” will feature the IMAX digital projection system and latest sound system, the release said.
Meanwhile, two new quick-serve restaurant concepts will join the collection of eateries at the 30-acre entertainment complex early next year. Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar, a walk-up bistro featuring robotic sushi-rolling machines, is slated to open in January above the Cineplex, while Fat Tuesday, a Louisiana-based frozen daiquiri chain, will open in February on the upper level of the complex, between Pat O’Brien’s and the groove.
Representatives at Universal Orlando were unavailable for further comment on the new tenants and movie theater addition.
CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort features an eclectic collection of themed restaurants, live entertainment, nightclubs, specialty shops and movie theater.
