Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
Rumor has it that as early as this coming week we could see the beginning of some changes at Peter Pan's Flight attraction at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World!
Sources say that a similar approach to an interactive queue line as the Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh attraction will be adopted at the long-standing fan favorite dark ride.
Here's what was done with the Winnie the Pooh ride....

I'm definitely for anything that will help you spend your time while on line and not concentrate on how long it is taking to get to the front of the queue.

Agreed. It's because of the small queue, or shall I say people parking lot, is the reason why I don't go on this ride that often. With the interactive queue going in, I wonder where they'll be getting all the extra space from? Are they going to be knocking into the Liberty Tree Tavern for extra space?
Re: Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
I really like the changes to Winnie the Pooh (although I wonder if adults will be stuck in line or can participate?) ... But I was SHOCKED to see the 70 min wait time coming from Disneyland. I am planning my first Walt Disney World Trip sometime in the next year or so, and the 70 min wait time for Pooh terrifies me... at Disneyland I rarely see the line at more than five minutes, and almost never than 15! The longest line I have seen recently in the parks i a 90 min wait time for Star Tours shortly after it opened, and now it is stabilizing at about 50 min. Are all the wait times like this? 0.0
Re: Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
NO! Depends on when you go. We were there Dec 10 - 20 and only as we got closer to the 20th were the wait times getting long. 150 for TSM at DHS on the 18th! WHAT???? Not with a 9 month old and a 3 year old!
Re: Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
@heilh0und and Tammi, you have to take advantage of the Fastpass system for both Pooh and TSM. I haven't waited for more than 20-30 minutes in years since the introduction of FP. Just have to have your strategy down
AP, I was wondering about the space issue too and from what Jeff Lange is showing in this following video, the Fantasyland Skyway station is being removed and that will be the walkway from Liberty Square to Fantasyland. That will clear enough room for the new interactive Peter Pan queue. I hate to lose the last remnants of the classic Skyway attraction, but it does make sense to do it.
Re: Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
This should in theory also help the bottle neck that is created in this area though with people trying to walk through here, as well as those now getting on IASW. I figured that this would give way to a walkway with the expansion and I guess this has now confirmed it.
As far as getting on the rides in Fantasyland, I will let you all in on a little secret. The best way and time to get ALL of this area done before the expansion, is to hit it first thing. I have gotten it all done with using the FP system and going to ride something else in Fantasyland while I wait for that time to come around, in an hour. It is possible, you just have to plan accordingly.

Yes, FP's for TSM were out by the time we got there both times. We even went pretty early the 2nd time after seeing that the FP's were out the first time. I was disappointed because we have never been on this ride. Better luck next time. We did have FP's for Pooh but had had lunch ADR's to get to and then decided not to go back that way because of the crowds. We shopped Main Street instead. That is where the CM's were talking about the park must be at or near capacity.
Re: Peter Pan's Flight ... More changes coming to Fantasyland?
I agree Jeff, first thing is best. The other good time is during the night time parade. If we are there for multiple nights, we do the parade and fireworks on one night and then the other nights we are at MK as soon as people start lining up for the parade we head to Tomorrow Land. You can do Space Mountain with little to no wait, same in the rest of the park. It is especially good to do this if you do MK on Sunday when they do the extra magic hours because you can ride a ton of stuff during the parade and fireworks and then do it all again during the late extra magic hours on Sunday night. We estimate that in that time slot you can do as much in a short time as you can all day waiting in line so we have started coming to MK in the late part of the day and waiting for the extra hours when we visit on property. Even if you are not on property for the extra hours, riding during the parade is a great way to get in more rides in less time. That is true of most of the parks when there are late fireworks or parades.
