I was just listening to The Dis Unplugged podcast from 8/6. Someone suggested that Disney may use the new quick service dining plan for the free dining they offer in the summer and fall. I thought that it sounds like it is a possiblity so that Disney can save money on that promotion. I was wondering what everyone else thought of this. Do you think it would make the free dining less popular?

To some yes. I prefer at least TS but this is just me. Not sure if I would go for it will have to wait & see. Thanks for posting this ! Then they will have to make ADR's for CS lol. I am not sure if I would do it or not.

I think that this could "fix" the problem with getting ADR's. If the free dining promotion is for the counter service, they will be busier, but the table service should be less so. Not many people realize that you can upgrade the free dining by paying the difference.

It might help take the strain off the full service restaurants. We like to just flit around when we visit the parks, so we very seldom eat at the 'sit sowns'! We'd sooner just grab and go!

I agree. We never make plans for our meals and just wing-it.

I think it's just another example of Disney cutting back on expenses. The table service restraunts will be less crowded and they won't be out as much money. We usually don't do too many TS, although with our DD we try to do one character meal. I am glad we get to go this year if it is the last year for the TS option!

No way to know for sure if this will be the same offer we'll get next year for US guests, remember. But it sure does make one think that this is where free dining is headed.
