The folks over at Dreamworks have to be very happy. Not only does the opening weekend of $60 million rank them third on the year's top grossing films (Indy $100.1 million/Iron Man $98.6), but places it as the eigth highest grossing weekend ever for an animated film. And, it could move up to seventh of all time if the weekend grosses put it at more than the $60 million estimated (Cars $60.1 million).
So, the next question is .... 'What Will WALL*E Do?'
To be honest, I'm a bit hesitant to say that this will be another huge hit for Disney/Pixar. I just haven't been that excited from the previews that I've seen. The
PR machine is spinning and telling us that this is another modern day classic. But, will the folks come out to see WALL*E?
WALL*E, the character, looks like a character that we could love. And although the storylines that Pixar puts out there are amazing, I'm going to have to reserve judgement until seeing it. Although, I'm just a little skeptical at this point.
I hope that I'm HUGELY underestimating the impact that WALL*E will have on the Disney/Pixar bottom line (Hey, I bought both of my girls Disney stock when they were born through here

But, what are your thoughts?
