With so many rumors in the past regarding the Japan pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot.....something like a permit being filed with the Orange County Comptroller for work to be done on the Japan 'castle' would be sure to generate some interest among Disney fanatics!
But, is it the beginnings of the much-anticipated attraction that the Epcot and Disney fans alike have been clamoring for? Or, is it just some structural work to be done?
In the past, there have been rumors about a thrill ride to be added to the back of the World Showcase in the Japan pavilion. The "Mt Fuji" bullet train themed coaster was rumored all around the world of Disney for many years.
The permit (link below) does not specify anything other than "EPCOT Japan castle refurbishment." It has a small graphic scale of the "Japan Castle"....

So, will it be the "Mt Fuji" attraction or just some paintwork to be done? Hmm....
