We do in Louisville and will many times pre-order a DVD, but I've always wondered....
Why not have a character there for a meet and greet and if you pre-order a DVD, you get a free autograph and pic...something like that.
Snow White came out, what a few months back, and how hard would it be to hire an actress to play Snow White to kick off the Tuesday DVD release? She could do a meet and greet. This, to me, would seem like: 1) If a kid got a free autograph/pic, they (well, parents) would be more wiling to shell out the $$$ for the pre-order and 2) Would still get patrons to the store, thus possibly increasing someone picking up a shirt or something else while they were there.
I don't know, maybe it's wishful thinking.
