Hello WDBers!

We had a wonderful "State of the Site" LIVE chat session this evening with a record-tying crowd, by the way

So, a big thank you for all of those that participated in the chat!

And, for those of you that couldn't make it....well, here's a quick recap of the evenings topics and what was discussed! (I've also attached it in an excel sheet within a zip file

)

December 5th is the 107th Birthday of Mr Walter Elias Disney!

To commemorate Walt's Birthday, WaltDisneyBoards.com will be running it's first official contest! One of Walt's quotes that I love is....

"You can design and create and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."

....with that being said, I wanted to thank the current members of WaltDisneyBoards.com with a nice opportunity to win a prize AND bring additional members to our little slice of the 'net! The contest will run from December 5th to December 24th with the winners having their gift card prizes in their inboxes on Christmas morning

Rules and more specific information will be added to the "Official" Referral Contest thread in the next day or two. But, for now, you can get to know where your "invite your friends" button is....on the blue navigation bar at the top of the site. And, if you have any questions on it, please ask.

We then proceeded to discuss how our traffic on Walt Disney Boards has increased as well as the visitors on Walt Disney Buddies. We have signed up 72 members on WDBuddies.com (in about a couple of months) and we're at 329 members on TheWDBoards.com in 7 months. So, we're doing well with new members on each site.

There will be some new features that are being tried out and tested over at GlamRockTalk.com that we will be incorporating over here at TheWDBoards.com and we also are working on some features that should be available here on the Boards within the next month or so. For example, the Mobile-Style should be up and running within the next couple of weeks (we hope!

) and the WDB Newsletter feature which will hopefully be available to us before the month is up.

We then chatted a bit about the upcoming Trivia Challenge #7 (Epcot Challenge) on Monday, December 8th at 9:30pm ET in the WDB Chat room. We also touched on the fact that we didn't have things in line enough to host or do an "official" WDB meet at this year's MouseFest event. But, we will be working towards having an event of some sort for next year's gathering. So, more to come on that in the first few months of 2009.

So, we've got a great promotion/contest for December to commemorate Uncle Walt's birthday and lots of new things to come! All brought to you with the help of Denise and her company... eh, we can just get the new mobile system to text everyone 15 minutes before the chat begins

(I have no idea whether it can do that or not - probably not - but it sounds good, doesn't it?

Funny that you mention that Tink.

That "could" be one of the things that you are going to help me in testing!

Um, I guess I missed the State of the Site, shoot! Sorry about that. I forgot, but I am also in finals week at school, and my mind has been elsewhere. I'll be on for the trivia challenge barring any calls while at work.

I'm also thinking ahead to next year, I hope I can make it to MouseFest if the APlympics come together
