When I am Tall Enough Cards At Disneyland
I was told about this tip and I was really excited, the tip reads:
"My family found a new thing DL is doing for the kids to short to get on rides with Height requirements. You can go up to the person who checks their height if they are not tall enough you can ask for a "when you are tall enough card" these are different from the child swap cards. they are standard 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 trading type cards with a picture of the ride and a character. When the child is tall enough to ride they can turn in the card (I was told they will date it and give it back) and the child and up to five other people can go on the ride like a fastpass. My Daughter collected most of them so there is a list of the ones we know about and who is on them:
Big thunder mountain : Goofy
Indiana Jones: Simba
Matterhorn: Donald
Space mountain: Jumba and Pleakley
Splash Mountain: Briar Fox and Bear
Star Tours: Stitch
Jumpin Jelly Fish: Sebastian
Mulholland Madness: Cruella Devile
Soaring over California: Aladdin and Jasmile
Tower of terror: Chicken Little
Maliboomer: Mushu
California Screaming: Huey, Dewey and Louie
Orange Stinger: Mogli and King Louie
There is also supposed to be ones for Tuck and rolls Drive 'em Buggies and Gadgets go coaster but I cannot confirm it since we don't have them but CM's at the ride said they exist they just didn't have any at that time.
My daughter had a lot of fun collecting these and I think it gives them something to look forward to, plus they get to be the super cool person who got everyone on the ride faster when they are tall enough. Have fun."
So needless to say, I was eager to go check this out. My husband, three year old daughter and I visited the parks this past Saturday. I wanted to share our experience!
In our travels, we received about four of these “When I Am Tall Enough” cards from various attractions. I described going around and receiving these cards as a sort of a “Trick or Treating” activity without the candy that rots your teeth!
The first attraction we visited was Sorin' over in DCA. Their height requirement was 40". We measured my daughter, Lilly and WOW, she was just short of making the ride, she is 39” tall! That was a shocker to us, we didn’t realize how close she was to being tall enough to ride the big rides!
We then went to Grizzly River Run and saw that their height requirement was 42”, so she still has some growing left to do before she can do that one.
Then later on in the day, while we were at Disneyland we visited Splash Mountain. The Cast Member there was slightly confused when I asked for a card. He thought I needed a Rider Switch Card but I explained what I wanted, and as he was looking in a box near his work station, he saw the cards and said, “Oh! These?” so I guess he had not known what they were and had never been asked for one.
It is amazing to me to realize that in just a small amount of time, my daughter will be able to experience these attractions and going to the Parks will be a whole new experience for her. Wow!
