The Disneyland Park is made up of five themed lands -- Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland - each welcoming guests into a world of make believe unlike any other.

Main Street, U.S.A.

Main Street, U.S.A. has all the atmosphere of a small American town similar to the one Walt Disney grew up in at the turn of the century, complete with horse - drawn trams and a steam train, which circles the Disneyland Park. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of food and drink, from the elegant Walt's American Restaurant to the Cookie Kitchen and Cable Car Bake Shop. A stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. will also take guests past an assortment of shops, including a barbershop, and the Boardwalk Candy Palace.

Frontierland

A few steps from Main Street, U.S.A. lies Frontierland, a land of pioneers and gold diggers in a spectacular landscape of canyons and sandstone monoliths. Race through a gold mine on a runaway train on Big Thunder Mountain*, brave the eerie Phantom Manor, or for a quieter time, jump aboard the Molly Brown and Mark Twain paddle boats for a peaceful trip on the river. The Wild West theme continues in the Silver Spur Steakhouse, Cowboy Cookout Barbeque, Last Chance Café, and the Lucky Nugget Saloon, complete with a French cancan show.

Adventureland

Just beyond the Wild West, guests can venture into the tropical islands of Adventureland, where lush jungle and waterfalls herald a different world of fun. Enjoy the antics of the rogues of the high seas on Pirates of the Caribbean, complete with daring battles and looting scenes. For those who prefer something with a thrill factor, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril offers a race through a deserted archaeological site in the middle of the jungle.

For younger children, the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse is well worth a visit, as are the suspended bridge and Captain Hook's Galleon. After all these adventures, hungry guests can visit the Blue Lagoon Restaurant, which offers an array of fish specialities, served on a tropical terrace inside Pirates of the Caribbean.

Fantasyland

Rising high above its surroundings in the centre of the Disneyland Park stands the elegant Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The essence of every child's fairytale kingdom, its pink turrets and square trees create a magical setting for any visit to Fantasyland. Inside, stained glass windows and hand-painted storybooks tell the story of Sleeping Beauty, whilst beneath the castle lurks a ferocious looking dragon. "It's a Small World" is a must for younger children, as is Lancelot's Carousel, Mad Hatter's Teacups, Peter Pan's flight, and Dumbo. Return to the days of princesses and knights as you dine in medieval banqueting rooms in the Auberge de Cendrillon, complete with Cinderella's carriage. For a quick burger, Au Chalet de la Marionette is always popular, or why not pop down to Toad Hall for fish and chips?

Discoveryland

For the daring, Discoveryland is just waiting to be explored. Inspired by inventions and technology of past and present, this land offers an intergalactic trip onboard Star Tours, a sensational 360° film at Le Visionarium, Les Mysteres du Nautilus submarine, and the 3D 'Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.' Finally, for the bravest of all, there is Space Mountain*...a thrilling trip through the galaxy, with a stomach churning selection of catapults, loops, and twists. Be warned!

As I recall from my visit there, The cast members were great. All were very nice and interested in where we from in the States. I hope that wasn't because it was new.
