Question OK so, what do you use the "duct tape" for?

I just finished my packing list for my non-Disney cruise next year and I've found, while looking for advice on this, that "duct tape" is recommended to take for many reasons (I don't want to say because I want to see if any new reasons come up).

If you take "duct tape" on your Disney cruise or any cruise, then I want to know what do YOU use it for??

A dresser drawer or closet door that might open and close on it's own in rough seas.

Lets just suppose you are trying to make your cabin a bit like home. You take out the picture, hammer and nail. Opps That wall is actually the hull. Not to worry, you are prepared.

If the tape is rolled over on itself with sticky side up and placed on a night stand, on could place a glass of water atop it. This will eliminate the fear of it sliding off the table in the event of the ship taking a rouge wave

I will tell you all a tip that I heard about duct tape, if you need to break in new shoes put some duct tape around your heal under your sock and you will break the shoes in and will not have to go through the pain of blisters.

You all are killing me with the uses for duct tape.

I hear a good use is for repairing damaged luggage. I myself take damaged luggage as a sign that I NEED to purchase a new piece of luggage, preferably with Mickey Mouse on the front.

As a four time cruise veteran, I can assure you that you will survive and make it home in one piece without dragging along a roll of duct tape.

That why I use duct tape on my luggage so I can pick it out quickly. The airlines has ruin one too many pieces of my new luggage so it back using the old one until it falls apart lol. But I don't take it with me the duct tape that is lol

If you happen to find yourself surviving in multiple pieces, use the tape to make yourself whole again.

This is too funny. I have NEVER heard of anyone recommending to take duct tape along on a cruise. I have gone twice and can't think of a reason to bring it with me. I like some of the ideas here though.

When I lived in Virginia, Duct tape is VERY commonly referred to as West Virginia Chrome. Sorry to anyone that lives in WV. It's just what the Virginian's call it.

Funny you say that, I have duct tape as my wallpaper on my pc (see attachment)

I used to have 2 years worth of those page a day calendars all about duct tape which was really neat. They had a lot of uses for it, pictures of people using it to fix things, or make cool items like a prom dress and tux, and they also had a "Stump the Duct Tape Guy" where people would ask the Duct Tape Guy any random question they could think of, and this guy has to answer their question (or solve their problem) using duct tape (and sometimes combined with WD40) This was several years ago, so I'm not sure if they're still doing the duct tape calendars or not, I need to check that out and get one again
