1908 - Actor & Disney Legend John Mills is born Lewis Ernest Watts Mills in Felixstowe, Suffolk, England. He will go on to portray Father Robinson in Disney's 1960 live-action film Swiss Family Robinson. (His daughter Hayley will star in Disney's 1961 The Parent Trap.)

1924 - Walt Disney ships his 3rd Alice Comedy film, Alice's Spooky Adventure to M.J. Winkler Productions (in New York).

1964 - The Below Decks Museum attraction is added to the Sailing Ship Columbia in Disneyland's Frontierland.

1971 - Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, the singing voice of Disney's Mulan and the singing voice of Jasmine for Disney's Aladdin, is born Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga in the Philippines.

1987 - TV's The Wonderful World of Disney airs "Parent Trap II" starring Hayley Mills.

1996 - Disney Online launches Disney.com, a Web site designed to promote a wide range of Disney products on the Internet.

2000 - Previews begin for Disney's Broadway show Aida at the Palace Theatre in New York City. The show features new music by Elton John.

2001 - At Disney World, a bird's nest catches fire on top of the Tommorowland Transit Authority attraction, forcing the ride to close for a short time. People onboard the ride are evacuated as a precaution and no one is injured.

2002 - The Lizzie McGuire episode "El Oro de Montezuma" debuts on Disney Channel. Actor Erik Estrada guest stars as Alejandro.

2004 - USA Today runs an interview with dissident former Disney board member Stanley Gold. Reporter Michael McCarthy asks about the recent hostile takeover bid by Comcast & the upcoming Disney Company annual meeting.

2004 - At the 10th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Johnny Depp wins for his performance in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

2005 - Todays is "Christy Carlson Romano Day" in Milford, Connecticut. Romano (who was born in Milford) is the voice of Disney Channel's animated Kim Possible. She is presented with the very first Connecticut's Finest award!

2009 - Wall-E wins the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Director Andrew Stanton accepts the award.
